In our previous study, we showed that major components in RAS-ERK signaling pathway including Nf1 are differentially expressed between excitatory and inhibitory neurons in mouse hippocampus, proposing that this cell type-specific distribution of signaling molecules may underlie cell type selective pathophysiology observed in NF1 and other Rasopathies such as Noonan syndrome [17]. The gene discussed is NF1; the disease is Noonan syndrome.
