This included the down-regulation of SOX21-AS1 (lFC = −2.97, padj = 0.003) (Figure 2a), already shown to be silenced in oral cancers [30], and the overexpression of the CASC15 gene (Cancer Susceptibility Candidate 15) (lFC = 3.3, padj = 2.8 × 10−5) (Figure 2b), whose RNA level has also been linked to cutaneous melanoma and phenotype switching in humans [31]. This evidence concerns the gene SOX21 and cancer.
