IL1B and infection: achromogenes, meanwhile an up-regulation in both, IL-1β and IL-8, has been reported in Atlantic cod gill epithelial cells infected with Vibrio anguillarum and A. salmonicida (48), and in Atlantic cod macrophages infected with Francisella noatunensis (49), reinforcing the importance of these canonical interleukins against Gram-negative pathogens during the first hours of infection.
