In line with this, autoreactive CD8+ T cells with a CD69+ CD103± TRM phenotype have been found in the skin of vitiligo patients (Boniface et al., 2018; Cheuk et al., 2017; Richmond, Strassner, Rashighi, et al., 2018; Richmond, Strassner, Zapata, et al., 2018) (Figure 2). The gene discussed is CD69; the disease is vitiligo.
