Consistent with the possibility that regulation of SNAP29 gene expression might be altered in schizophrenia, SNAP29 has been found among the interactors of the schizophrenia susceptibility factor dysbindin, a component of the BLOC-1 complex, together with the Golgi adapter COG6 and the polarized transport molecules AP3, SEC6 and SEC8 in human neuroblast cells 45. This evidence concerns the gene DTNBP1 and schizophrenia.
