CRP and chronic kidney disease: This study found that most patients with early-stage CKD (eGFR ≥ 60 ml/min/1.73 m2) presented with high LDLc levels before treatment17,37–39 and that the reductions in LDLc and CRP were moderate regardless of the eGFR of the patients37–39; it is likely that in the early stages of CKD, patients develop high LDLc levels, which then decrease as a result of the treatment (similar to non-CKD patients).
