We discovered that pro-survival members of the BCL2 family (e.g., BCL2, BCL2L2, BCL2L1, and MCL1), which are overexpressed in glioma (and other tumor) cells and contribute to their resistance to apoptosis inducers, acted as negative modulators of H-1PV-induced apoptosis. The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is neoplasm.
