Cumulatively, numerous studies have identified the aberrant expression and prognostic value of NEAT1 in various types of tumors including breast cancer (51), colorectal cancer (52), liver cancer, ovarian cancer (53), cervical cancer (54), gastric cancer (55), prostate cancer (56), lung cancer (57), and papillary thyroid cancer (58), the majority of which suggest NEAT1 as an oncogene that is overexpressed in tumors compared to their respective normal tissues and promotes tumor cell progression. This evidence concerns the gene NEAT1 and cervical carcinoma.
