INS and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: The former study [34] evaluating in 964 Australian adolescents the relationship between ultrasound-diagnosed NAFLD and arterial stiffness, demonstrated that NAFLD is associated with raised arterial stiffness only in subjects belonging to the “high metabolic risk” group (as based on systolic arterial pressure, homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance, triglycerides, and body mass index (BMI)), therefore suggesting that arterial stiffness related to NAFLD is predicated on the presence of an adverse metabolic profile in adolescents.
