The present study demonstrated the novel findings that mRNA expressions of HLA class II genes, especially HLA-DP and -DR, were significantly increased in clinical cutaneous melanoma samples and positively associated with overall survival, while multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that the HLA class II gene expressions were most closely associated with survival in cutaneous melanoma compared to other cancer types. The gene discussed is HLA-DPB1; the disease is cutaneous melanoma.
