The over‐activation of the NF‐κB signalling pathway is associated with the pathogenesis of IDD.36 Pro‐inflammatory cytokines, such as TNF‐α, bind to specific receptors in the cytomembrane and activate the classical NF‐κB pathway.37 It was assumed that ANGPTL8 could exacerbate the adverse effects of TNF‐α through the regulation of NF‐κB signalling in NP cells. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and intervertebral disk degenerative disorder.
