Atorvastatin was able to reduce the level of circulating cholesterol, and it attenuated enhanced tumor growth and lung metastasis associated with an HFHC diet in a transgenic model in which the murine Apoe gene was replaced with the human APOE3 allele and injected with ER-positive E0771 murine mammary cancer cells [45,53].
