To the best of our knowledge, the present study for the first time reports a strong negative correlation between ANGPTL-4 levels in children and the main anthropometric (body weight, BMI, and waist circumference) and metabolic (HOMA index, insulin, leptin, and TG) parameters of obesity, thus supporting the decreased levels of ANGPTL-4 found in children with obesity. The gene discussed is INS; the disease is obesity disorder.
