UC-MSC therapy increased animal survival in E. coli-induced pneumonia (Figure 1A), increasing the survival from 60% (9/15) in vehicle-treated animals to 91% (11/12) with naïve UC-MSC therapy and 82% (9/11) in the animals treated with IL-10 UC-MSCs (p < 0.05 versus vehicle). The gene discussed is IL10; the disease is susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
