IL6 and diabetes mellitus: To our knowledge, no studies addressing the impact of glyburide on LPS-stimulated pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion in the brain exist, so we propose that the present data are the first showing that this drug may act as an anti-inflammatory agent and normalize the LPS-evoked secretion of IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β into the medium in both control and diabetes hippocampal cultures.
