Mazher et al. [92] stimulated the TRPV1 channels of the vagus nerve in NTS or inhibited the TRPV1 channels in advance, and they found that the TRPV1 channel of the vagus nerve in NTS could be involved in inhibiting the sympathetic nerve excitability of brown adipocyte cells, which could attenuate the metabolism of adipocytes and cause obesity in mice. The gene discussed is TRPV1; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
