A variety of antibodies, such as monoclonal antibody 9.2.27 against melanoma [26], monoclonal antibody 225.28 against breast cancer [16], TP41.2 against mesothelioma [27], as well as a single-chain Fv construct, scFv–Fc21 [28], have been successfully employed to stunt tumor progression in animal models, which is largely ascribed to blockade of CSPG4-mediated pro survival signals [16,25,26,29]. This evidence concerns the gene CSPG4 and breast cancer.
