Other targets of tau seeding and spreading, as neurons in gray matter regions, are well documented (Clavaguera et al., 2009, 2013a,b, 2015; Ahmed et al., 2014; Boluda et al., 2015; Audouard et al., 2016; Guo et al., 2016; Narasimhan et al., 2017; Ferrer et al., 2018), and here supported as complementary data using the same homogenates of AD employed for callosal inoculation following injection into the hippocampus; inoculation of homogenates into the hippocampus produced tau deposition in neurons and their projections, in addition to glial cells in the fimbria. This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and Alzheimer disease.
