Another publication suggests that WRNIP1 can recruit DNA polymerase to DNA damage, which plays an important role in DNA damage repair and genome stability maintenance.22 Radiotherapy can cause severe, irreparable DNA damage and cell cycle arrest, leading to tumor death and cell apoptosis.19 It is speculated that miR‐22 is likely to increase the radiosensitivity of SCLC cells by inhibiting WRNIP1 expression.
