Xiaoxu et al. found that circAKT3, a circRNA originating from exons 8, 9, 10, and 11 of the AKT3 gene, is mainly distributed in the cytoplasm, and can up-regulate PIK3R1 expression to enhance cisplatin resistance in gastric cancer cells by suppressing miR-198 expression. This evidence concerns the gene AKT3 and gastric cancer.
