IRS1 and cancer: For example, it has been shown that circRNA ciRS-7 removes or reduces the inhibitory effect of miR-7 on carcinogenic factors including epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) [19], insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS-1), IRS-2 [20], p21-activated protein kinase-1 (Pak1) [21], and Raf1 through competitive binding to miR-7 [22–24], and thus promotes the development of cancer.
