Our findings regarding the percentage of both the genotype of the TLR4 Asp299Gly polymorphism and its alleles and the part of the urinary tract infected were in agreement with the study of Yin et al. which showed that the gene prevalence of TLR4c.896A<G and TLR4 896 G alleles in adult patients with lower UTI (urethritis, cystitis) was higher than that in the control group [28]. This evidence concerns the gene TLR4 and bacterial urinary tract infection.
