Multivariate analysis by stepwise Cox proportional hazards regression analysis confirmed that plasma CTRP3 concentrations (determined dichotomously, adjusted for age, hypertension, LVEF> 25%, NT-proBNP< 20,000 ng/L) remained independently predictive of death with a hazard risk ratio of 1.93 (95% CI 1.03 to 3.62, P = 0.042). The gene discussed is NPPB; the disease is hypertensive disorder.
