The release of exosomes is a complex multi-step process, and neutral sphingomyelinase 2 (nSMase2), phosphorylated synaptosome-associated protein 23 (SNAP23) and Ras-related RAB proteins (RAB27A/RAB27B) are demonstrated to regulate exosome secretion from several cancer cells like HCC, melanoma, and colorectal cancer [6,7,8]. The gene discussed is SNAP23; the disease is melanoma.
