A more recent study by Tsi et al., using a panel of mouse-derived prostate cancer cell lines and human prostate cancer, demonstrated that ETV6 expression was negatively associated with TWIST1. Furthermore, the researchers identified one ETV6 response element that was sequence-specific for the TWIST1 promoter, suggesting the inhibition of EMT activation by repression of TWIST1’s transcriptional activity. This evidence concerns the gene TWIST1 and prostate carcinoma.
