CD274 and melanoma: All these findings together suggest that melanoma patients with low/absent PD-L1 tumors do not respond to immunotherapy as well as those with high PD-L1 expression, but some PD-L1 negative patients achieve responses to anti-PD-1 antibodies becoming long-term survivors [19] and, for this reason, a low/absent PD-L1 expression does not exclude a treatment with anti-PD-1 antibodies in this tumor.
