As reported that hyperlipidemia disrupted OTR signaling (Padol et al., 2017), that serum OT levels were decreased in obese group (Qian et al., 2014), and that mice with OT- or OTR-deficiency developed late-onset obesity (Takayanagi et al., 2008) which was associated with type 2 diabetes and CAD (Amri and Pisani, 2016). Here, OXTR is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
