One possibility is that the absence of a blood–brain barrier in glioma capillaries (Dubois et al., 2014; Wolburg et al., 2012; Liebner et al., 2000; Sage and Wilson, 1994) permits the exposure of endothelial cells to a paracrine factor that activates GPIHBP1 expression. Here, GPIHBP1 is linked to glioma.
