FAIM and myeloproliferative disorder: A recent study examining gene expression levels of a panel of death receptors and related apoptotic genes including faim in CD34 hematopoietic stem cells and leukocytes from patients with MPDs [43] found that the expression of faim was elevated together with that of fas, fasl and c-flip, suggesting that the deregulation of faim expression might associate with MPD pathogenesis and the accumulation of myeloid cells in MPDs.
