In a transgenic α‐syn Drosophila model and inducible SH‐SY5Y neuroblastoma cells, α‐syn overexpression increases levels of histone marks associated with heterochromatin, together with levels of EHMT2 (euchromatic histone‐lysine N‐methyltransferase 2, also known as G9a) that acts to modify H3K9 (Sugeno et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene EHMT2 and neuroblastoma.
