Splicing factor 3B subunit 1 (SF3B1), U2 small nuclear RNA auxiliary factor 1 (U2AF1), serine/arginine-rich splicing factor (SRSF2), and zinc finger CCCH-type, RNA binding motif and serine/arginine-rich 2 (ZRSR2) are splicing factors that carry recurrent somatic mutations in MDS and are components of the E/A splicing complex that coordinates 3′ splice site recognition during the early phase of pre-mRNA processing [2,146,147,148]. The gene discussed is SF3B1; the disease is myelodysplastic syndrome.
