To determine if MnSODK68Q, a site-directed mutant that genetically mimics K68-Ac, may function as a tumor promoter, lenti-MnSODK68R or lenti-MnSODK68Q were co-infected into wild-type (WT) primary mouse embryonic fibroblasts (pMEFs) with lentiviral expression of either c-Myc or Ras. In these experiments, at least two oncogenes, i.e., c-Myc and Ras (WT Ras gene)25, are required to immortalize and/or transform primary cells. The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is neoplasm.
