Five of the 22 participants (23%) had non-Alzheimer’s causes for dementia: progressive supranuclear palsy (n = 1), Lewy body disease (n = 1), vascular brain injury (n = 1) and frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD-TDP43, n = 2) (Table 2). The gene discussed is TARDBP; the disease is dementia.
