Although the pathogenesis of PCOS is still unclear, the disturbance of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis, featuring elevated luteinizing hormone (LH)/ follicular-stimulating hormone (FSH) ratios, is strongly suspected to be associated with the development of PCOS in about 35-90% patients (3–6). Here, PLOD1 is linked to polycystic ovary syndrome.
