Recently, next-generation sequencing (NGS) using a commercial platform for liquid biopsy has expanded the scope of applications for the detection of acquired mutations and for diagnosis in ALK-positive NSCLC (Beadling et al. 2016; Cui et al. 2017; Gainor et al. 2016; Lin et al. 2017; Nilsson et al. 2016; Rolfo et al. 2017; Wang et al. 2016; Yoda and Lin 2018). This evidence concerns the gene ALK and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
