The major findings of this study are that 1) IDH1R132H suppresses glioblastoma cell growth and motility, 2) IDH1R132H increases NANOG expression through activation of its proximal promoter region with increased H3K4-3Me, consequently causes resistance to HDACi, and 3) pharmacological inhibition of IDH1R132H using AGI-5198 is sufficient to reduce NANOG expression and overcome HDACi resistance in IDH1R132H expressing glioblastoma cells. This evidence concerns the gene NANOG and glioblastoma.
