Compared to the UTR-APA analysis, overall fewer CR-APA profile changes are identified when the fractions of the different cell lines are compared but importantly, this cohort includes genes that have been strongly linked to cancer progression; most notably MTHFD1L and NAP1L1. NAP1L1 is a nucleosome assembly protein that is overexpressed in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm metastases (30) and MTHFD1L encodes a key component of the mitochondrial tetrahydrofolate cycle (mTHF) which has been implicated in proliferation (31). The gene discussed is NAP1L1; the disease is cancer.
