Here we generated adipose-specific HuR-knockout mice and found that HuR could protect against HFD-induced obesity and insulin resistance, which amplifies our understanding of the functions of HuR. Moreover, HuR function is regulated via changes in its subcellular localization, affinity for RNA, abundance, and cleavage, which in turn influence its ability to affect the fate of target mRNAs35–38. This evidence concerns the gene ELAVL1 and Obesity.
