IPA analysis of BLBC-specific secreted proteins (Additional file 3: Figure S3c) indicated the activation of a few known BC-driving signaling pathways, including PI3K-Akt signaling, [44] protein kinase A signaling, [45] signaling by Rho family GTPases, [46] the 14–3-3-mediated signaling associated with BC oncogenesis, [47] and the actin cytoskeleton signaling involved in the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).
