On the other hand, increased FGFR2c expression has been reported in a model of epithelial-to-mesechymal transition (EMT) in bladder cancer cells [37] and recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Balversa (Erdafitinib), a pan FGFR-inhibitor for clinical use in patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma with FGFR2 and FGFR3 aberrations [38]. Here, FGFR3 is linked to urinary bladder cancer.
