Mutations in multiple genes have been linked to PD, including alpha-synuclein (SNCA), leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2), glucosylceramidase beta (GBA), Parkin, and PTEN-induced kinase 1 (PINK1); several studies have suggested NF-κB as a therapeutic target for PD arising from multiple genetic etiologies. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and Parkinson disease.
