The results showed that in lung squamous cell cancer, which accounts for most (80%) cases of lung cancer, high TM4SF1 expression was associated with older patient age, in addition, its high expression was related to patient smoking status (Fig. 1b), with TM4SF1 being expressed more highly in former smokers than in non-smokers . This evidence concerns the gene TM4SF1 and squamous cell lung carcinoma.
