Preleukemia transcription factor 3 (PBX3) is a member of the PBX family of three amino acid loop extension class homeodomain transcription factors, which are known to serve as cofactors for homeobox proteins and are physiologically involved in regulation of gene expression during embryonic development.37, 38 Some findings have documented that PBX3 acts as an oncogenic gene in the progression of numerous cancer types.39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44 It is worth noting that in CRC, PBX3 has been associated with tumor progression and metastasis. The gene discussed is PBX3; the disease is neoplasm.
