In a way consistent with our previous findings, the multivariate logistic analysis showed that having high level of this PON1 activity was related with a lower probability of obesity (odds ratio, OR: 0.559 95% confidence interval, CI—95%: 0.340–0.919) in women, but not in men (OR 0.662; CI— −95%: 0.231–1.893). This evidence concerns the gene PON1 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
