However, FASN, HMGCR and LDLR expression was higher in the ACHN ccRCC cells than in the 7860 ccRCC cells (Fig. 6d), which suggests that ACHN cells are more dependent on the de novo synthesis of FAs and cholesterol than are 786-O cells and that intracellular cholesterol levels in 786-O cells mainly depend on SRB1 to mediate the exogenous uptake of cholesterol.
