HAVCR1 and allergic disease: T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain 1 (TIM-1), also known as hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 1 (HAVcR-1) or kidney injury molecule 1 (KIM-1), is an important susceptibility gene for asthma and allergy, and it is preferentially expressed on Th2 cells and functions as a potent co-stimulatory molecule for T cell activation [14, 15].
