CD68 and stroke disorder: Rating of the size and density of CD68+ cells in the stroke border by a blinded experimenter confirmed that microglia/MDMs were significantly larger and less dense in the brains of clenbuterol-treated mice 3 days after stroke (Fig. 1d), indicating that increased β2-adrenergic stimulation after stroke may induce hypertrophy and reduce cell numbers of microglia and/or MDMs near the infarct.
