In summary, our results demonstrated that miR-188-5p, by targeting PTEN, increases Akt and GSK3β phosphorylation, thus promoting β-catenin nuclear accumulation and activating Wnt/β-catenin signaling, which enhances cancer metastasis and leads to poor prognosis in patients with GC (Fig. 6d). This evidence concerns the gene GSK3B and gastric cancer.
