TTR and dementia: Prior studies have indicated that the quality of management of warfarin therapy as measured by TTR is associated with risk of dementia.6, 11 The hypothesis being that periods of supratherapeutic or subtherapeutic anticoagulation predispose patients to microbleeds and microthrombi, which may eventually lead to dementia; hence, dementia could be considered a potential long‐term complication of warfarin therapy.
