IL‐2 receptor alpha (IL2RA, OMIM: 147730) and IL‐2 receptor beta (IL2RB, OMIM: 146710) genes (located in 10p15 and 22q13, respectively) were reported to be associated with the development of autoimmune diseases and inflammatory diseases, such as type 1 diabetes (TID) (Ferjani et al., 2016), multiple sclerosis (Cavanillas et al., 2010), inflammatory bowel disease (Bouzid et al., 2013), and intermediate uveitis (Ewald, Martin, Navid, Wilfried, & Yosuf, 2015). This evidence concerns the gene IL2RA and type 1 diabetes mellitus.
