While IQCK rs950928 and its associated SNPs rs8056711 and rs59009734 have not been previously associated with any phenotypes, common variants within IQCK have previously been associated with blood pressure, BMI, bone density, heart rate, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bipolar disorder, and a BMI-education interaction (Cho et al., 2009; Liu et al., 2010; Wan et al., 2011; Boardman et al., 2014; Winham et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene IQCK and bipolar disorder.
